Combat Infantryman's Course (CiC) Script
Please do not talk, move, or make any other actions until instructed to, from this point on.
Today you will be taking part in your Combat Infantryman's Course (CiC).
You will learn the basic key skills you need to know,
to be an effective Private within the British Army.
I am (Rank) (Name) and I will be your instructor for today.
You will address me as (Rank) for the duration of the course.
Any questions before we begin?
First thing we are going to run through is the core values of the British Army.
To remember these we use the acronym "CDRILS".
The core values are;
{C}ourage, {D}iscipline, {R}espect for others, {I}ntegrity, {L}oyalty and {S}elfless Commitment.
Are there any questions regarding CDRILS?
Next, we will move on to the ranks in the British Army.
Non-Commissioned Officers are always addressed by there ranks as well as enlisted soldiers.
Warrant Officers are classed as Non-Commissioned Officer's in the British Army
and are therefore not saluted.
However they do hold the Queen's Warrant and will be addressed as Sir/Ma'am.
Commissioned Officers hold the Queen's Commission and are therefore saluted.
When a Commissioned Officer enters the HQ through the sentry (rollers),
ALL active personnel are to stand at "attention" until relieved.
To distinguish who is who, the uniforms are slightly different.
Enlisted personnel (Private - Corporal) wear all olive green uniform.
Non-Commissioned Officers (Sergeant - Sergeant Major) wear tan trousers.
Warrant Officers (WO2 - WO1) and Officer Cadets (OCdt) wear Dark grey trousers.
Commissioned Officers (2Lt - General) wear dark brown trousers.
It's easier to remember if you consider their clothing:
Black & Brown trousers = Address as Sir/Ma'am, Brown trousers = Stand at attention!
In a summary, you address personnel above Warrant Officer 2 as Sir/Ma'am,
and you salute and stand for attention for personnel above Second Lieutenant.
It is VERY important you show respect to your superiors and subordinates equally.
Disrespect or insubordination may result in your removal from the military itself.
Any questions on this?
You will now learn the "Squat" procedure.
"Squats" are used in Headquarters for punishments. Personnel who have done something wrong,
may be ordered to stand up from the Front Row and do a certain amount of squats.
To squat, one must be standing on the floor, followed by repeating :sit, and :stand a certain
amount of times, or done until ordered to stop.
Officers who are Major and above, and senior Military Police personnel may use this procedure.
Let's have a practice to see if you understand.
Are there any questions on this procedure?
Taking you a stage further in your foot drill, I am going to teach you "attention".
"Attentions" are held to show respect to Commissioned Officers, and to announce certain things.
When an Officer of superior rank calls "Attention" you will stand up in your rear-adjacent tile.
In attentions you must NOT: speak, turn, move or click anywhere else.
You must also drop any hand items you are holding by clicking yourself and pressing drop hand item
If you happen to miss-click, sit in your seat, and return to your standing position immediately.
To be relieved, the soldier whom the "attention" belongs to will say either:
"At ease", "As you were", or "Carry On".
You will then take a seat where you were sat before and continue with duties as normal.
If you're unsure, copy personnel holding a higher rank than you, but quickly!
Another movement that we use is "Stand easy".
When "Stand easy" is called, you remain standing but you are free to talk.
If "Attention" is called you do not move, or talk.
If "At ease", "As you were", or "Carry On" is called,
You carry out that action by sitting down.
Let's have a practice then.
Any questions on this?
You will now learn the "Front and Centre" procedure.
When told to F&C, you will march up to the Officer and Halt in the space directly in front of him.
You will then salute the Officer (Wave or say "o/") and say:
"Yes, Sir!" or "Yes, Ma'am!", according to the gender of the officer.
The Officer will say what has to be said, then say "Dismissed".
On this command, you will salute once more (Wave or say "o/")
And then, only when you have finished waving, march back to your seat, and stand at attention.
F&C may take a long time on some occasions, hence, your habbo may tend to become idle,
When this happens, you are to sit back down on your chair and stand up again IMMEDIATELY.
Any Questions before we practice?
Let's practice the procedure, then!
Next we will run through your duties within the HQ.
The row of chairs with the desks and computers is called the front row.
Whilst on the front row, you will be required to recruit new personnel and make visitors feel welcome.
While recruiting, you must ensure that the uniform and motto is correct.
Also, their hairstyle must be neat and preferably tied up.
No face paints or other accessories on uniform are allowed.
There are 3 commands you need to know while on the front row:
:lobby :pen :uniform
These all have different functions and must be typed how I have just typed them.
:lobby - a command to remove someone from your booth.
:pen - a command to teleport them to the tents once they are ready.
:uniform - a command to teleport them to wear the recruit uniform.
You must make sure you are friendly and welcome everyone who enters the HQ
and all civilians who enter the lobby.
You are setting the example and you are a British Soldier so make sure you live by our motto
and "Be the best"!
While FTF (Fill the front), you are to not leave your keyboard or screen.
If you need to go away from your keyboard, then you are to FTB or also known as (Fill The Back).
You can FTB by proceeding to the row of chairs at the back of the HQ.
Here, you need not be afraid of being kicked as you will stay in the HQ, even if you are AFK.
On the back row, you are NOT allowed to talk or shout; you are only allowed to whisper or IM others.
If you go idle or miss an "attention" on the front row, you will be kicked.
At no point must you be anywhere else in the HQ, without permission of an officer.
This includes the sentry controls (rollers/main hatch) and OS/OO (controls in the centre of HQ).
Also, there is an area at the bottom left-hand corner, which is the VIP area.
YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ENTER THAT AREA. That area is strictly for 2Lt+ and VIPs ONLY!
Any questions?
Finally, we will discuss the terms and conditions of getting paid.
At the British Army we pay you 10 (ten) coins when and only when you reach the rank
of Sergeant (E-3). The form of payment is called a 'Golden Hello' and this is awarded to
you due to the fact you have started from Recruit and worked your way up to Sergeant.
You will only receive your 'Golden Hello' if you abide by our strict rules
which include not asking for payment at any point during your career.
When you reach the rank of (E-3) Sergeant, you may ask a senior rank
with help with regards to claiming your 'Golden Hello' (payment)
Any questions?
We are going to do a Brief test to confirm you have taken everything in that you have been taught. (I would like you to all whisper your answers to me.)
(Once you have all answered I will write the next question.)
There are 7 questions in which you must get a minimum of 5 correct to pass.
If you manage to get all the questions correct, you will receive a reward.
I would like you all to click on me and make it so you are whispering me.
If the option to whisper me doesn't appear in a grey box, type :whisper <username>
When I ask you a question, answer via whisper.
Are you ready?
1. Name two of the Core Values.
2. Who do you address as "Sir" or "Ma'am"?
3. At what rank are you entitled for your 'Golden Hello' payment/reward of 10 coins?
4. ATTENTION
